The Anchor Who Built Her Own Stage

Some passions don’t need a reason. You just feel them — like a pulse that keeps calling you back. That’s exactly what the stage has been for me. From my early school days, I’ve felt my soul come alive whenever I stepped on stage — whether as a dancer, singer, actor, or anchor. I didn’t know where it would lead, but one thing was always clear: the stage felt like home. Back then, it was all about the joy of performing. I never imagined this spark would evolve into a full-blown career in anchoring and event management. Like most meaningful journeys, this one wasn’t easy. Breaking into the events and anchoring space came with its own set of challenges — especially as a woman in a demanding and often unpredictable industry.

There were days filled with rejections, late-night events, and the struggle of performing during difficult times — managing periods, physical illness, severe cold, fever, nausea from over-traveling, and constantly changing weather conditions. And then came the post-event battles — like chasing payments. As a woman, I had to push even harder to earn respect, claim my space, and prove my credibility. The industry doesn’t always offer equal ground for every artist, but I stood firm. I wore my confidence like armor and showed up for every opportunity — even when it meant working twice as hard to be seen and heard.

Every hardship only deepened my resolve. I didn’t come from a family of media professionals. But I had a friend who acted as my mentor and guru, guiding me through my first professional step into this field — MC Thamizharasan. I’ve learned so much from him, and I’ll always owe my growth and success to him, the Almighty, my parents, and the other gurus in my life. I had a fire within me, and even though I started as an IT professional, I built my career in media and events from scratch.

Today, I can humbly say that I didn’t just survive in this field — I carved my own niche, thanks to my gurus, my parents, my karma, my destiny, universal power of manifestation, and the divine’s presence. But my story isn’t just about personal success. One thing both MC Thamizharasan and I deeply missed in our early days was proper guidance in the anchoring field. We had to learn everything the hard way — doing countless random shows for low pay or even for free, just to gain experience. Opportunities didn’t knock on our door — we created our own. With the help of platforms like YouTube and Facebook, we began expanding our reach. We also trained ourselves in social media marketing and were fortunate to be guided by our business mentor, Dr. Maharaja SivaSubramanian N, who continues to teach and support us in maintaining our websites and digital presence.

We had the talent, the passion, and the will — but we didn’t have someone to show us the ropes, explain the unspoken rules, or help us find direction. That gap inspired our next mission. So we founded Chennai Event Emcees — a company dedicated to training, mentoring, and guiding aspiring anchors. We want to be the mentors we once searched for. Through inductions and hands-on training, we aim to build a strong support system for newcomers. Because anchoring isn’t just about holding a mic — it’s about confidence, clarity, timing, empathy, and human connection. These are skills we’ve honed through experience, and now, we’re committed to passing them on. As we grow, our vision is to light the path for others — because the stage has space for many stories. And it’s time more voices are heard.

With time, my dedication and hard work brought recognition in the media field as well. I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most respected Tamil channels — Aditya TV, Raj TV, and Puthuyugam. Hosting the dance reality show “Aadava Paadava” on Puthuyugam was a major milestone in my career. Today, I work as a celebrity interview anchor with Indiaglitz and Mega TV, and each new project continues to inspire me.

My journey also expanded into the vast world of live events. As the founder of Chennai Event Entertainers which was our second company for artist management, I’ve had the honor of hosting, over 2,500+ shows across the globe, ranging from weddings and corporate events to concerts and award functions, so on and so forth. And my company has got the privilege in organizing and delegating Emcees for more than 4000+ shows over the years. Every event is unique, every audience is different — and that’s what keeps me grounded and excited. I’ve shared the stage with incredible talents, celebrities, and achievers — but nothing compares to the joy of connecting directly with an audience and leaving a lasting impression.

I’ve always believed that nothing truly belongs to us — everything is guided by destiny and shaped by karma. I understand that not everyone may resonate with this belief, and that’s okay. But as someone who walks a spiritual path, I often delve deep into ancient wisdom to understand life’s greater truths. We are but a speck of dust in the vast cosmos — transient and ever-changing. Name, fame, success, and wealth… they all come and go. They are fleeting — illusions that can vanish in a moment. What truly stays with us — what defines our soul’s journey — is our karma. Not just in this lifetime, but across many.

Every thought, every action, every word we speak leaves an imprint. That is karma — not punishment or reward, but a reflection of our choices. And so, I strive to stay conscious of the energy I carry and the deeds I leave behind. To collect good karma, not applause. To remain grounded, not glorified. Humility, I’ve realized, isn’t about thinking less of yourself — it’s about understanding your place in this vast, interconnected universe. It’s about walking through every stage of life with grace, gratitude, and awareness. Because in the end, the only thing that truly belongs to us… is the goodness we choose to give.
